MODERN — International Art Exhibition in Antalya
In September 2024, my work was presented at MODERN, an international group exhibition at Modern Sanatlar Galerisi in Antalya, Turkey.
The exhibition brought together artists from different backgrounds and placed their works within a shared international context.
Showing work outside my usual environment is always an interesting shift. An artwork may begin from something deeply personal, but once it enters an exhibition, it no longer belongs entirely to the artist.
It meets people who know nothing about the circumstances in which it was created. They bring their own memories, associations and ways of seeing.
The work remains the same.
What changes is the person standing in front of it.
For me, this is one of the most compelling parts of exhibiting internationally: seeing how something created from an individual experience can continue its life through the experience of someone else.
