"Before the World Told Me Who to Be" is a series of abstract works exploring the return to one’s authentic self. We are born intuitive, open, and whole. As we grow, the world teaches us to fit roles and expectations — and we often lose connection with our inner voice. These paintings create a space where the viewer can meet themselves again.
The series is divided into three parts: Infantia — the original state of purity before external influence. Iuventus — the search for identity shaped through expectations. Maturitas — the quiet strength of returning to one’s true essence.
The titles are in Latin because Latin reflects the root of meaning, a language before cultural interpretation — just as this series turns toward the inner self that existed before the world told us who to be.
Infantia Who we were before the world. Pure perception, openness, instinct. A memory of the self, soft and wordless.
